John Giblin
John Giblin ( born February 26, 1952) is a British bass player. He plays fretless bass, acoustic bass, electric bass and double bass.
Musical career
In 1979, John Giblin represented in the band Brand X bassist Percy Jones, who had moved from London to New York and could not be present in all recordings. Contributions to the album " Product" were, inter alia, the two quieter songs " Rhesus perplexus " and "April" and collaboration with Jones on bass in "Wal to Wal ". Phil Collins and John Giblin were close friends, they lived through together in 1980 to divorce their wives.
From 1985 to 1988 Giblin was a member of the band Simple Minds and played on the Amnesty International supporting tour for the album "Once upon a time " by Simple Minds with.
His style has been compared in the 1980s with the playing style of Jaco Pastorius of Weather Report. He has played a Gibson S. G.
Cooperation
He played as a studio musician on dozens of successful folk, rock and pop albums of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, the bass part.
