Josip Drmić ( born August 8, 1992 Baech SZ ) is a Swiss football player who also has Croatian citizenship. He currently plays for 1.FC Nuremberg in the Bundesliga and the Swiss national football team.

Career

Youth

Drmić began as an F- Junior FC Freisbach to playing football. In 2001 he moved from FC Rapperswil -Jona in the youth department of FC Zurich.

FC Zurich

6 February 2010 Drmić were under the former coach Bernard Challandes his debut in the Super League. In the match against Neuchatel Xamax he came on in the 87th minute for Xavier Margairaz. During his time at FC Zurich, he scored a total of 25 goals in 74 official matches, including seven goals in the Swiss Cup.

1 FC Nuremberg

On July 5, 2013 signed Drmić at the Bundesliga 1 FC Nuremberg a four-year contract until 2017. His Bundesliga debut for the 1st FC Nuremberg he gave on the opening day of the 2013/14 season against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after it for in the mid-term Róbert Mak came on. His first goal he succeeded on the next Round 1-0 against Hertha BSC. The game ended 2-2. Beginning of 2014 he was involved in the first three victories this season, the 1st FC Nuremberg significantly with a total of five goals.

National

Drmić took the Olympic football team under the guidance of coach Pierluigi Tami at the 2012 Olympic Games in London in part. The team retired in the first round after a draw against Gabon ( 1:1) and defeats against South Korea (1-2) and Mexico ( 0-1). Since 2012 he plays for the national team of Switzerland and played his first game on September 11, 2012 at the World Cup qualifier against Albania. He came on in the 92nd minute for granite Xhaka.

On March 5, 2014 Drmić scored in a friendly against Croatia, the country of origin of his parents, his first two goals in the jersey of the Swiss national team.

The U-17 World Cup in 2009, in which Switzerland won her first title at the World Cup, had missed Drmić because he had been denied until 2010, the Swiss citizenship.
