Judas Christ is the seventh studio album by the metal band Tiamat. It was released in March 2002 on Century Media.

Formation and style

On Judas Christ continued the band continued payments based on alignment of Dark Rock Skeleton Skeletron and integrated in parts additionally influences from various rock subgenres. Some pieces such as Vote for Love, however, are kept very accessible and follow a simple verse-chorus - scheme. Sometimes unusual instruments such as the violin, sitar or the didgeridoo were used. For the first time since their debut Sumerian Cry not, the band played the album in the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen one, but with Lars Nissen in the Puk, Medley & Sun Studios.

Reception

The album reached number 28 in Germany and in Sweden Place 52 Wolf -Rüdiger Sears wrote in the magazine Rock Hard, the album was an " important step on the way to old form and new self-confidence. " He praised " small but compositionally enormously dense and mood are very effective elements " that enriched the Dark- rock sound. His rating was eight out of ten. Adam Bregman of the website Allmusic.com awarded 1.5 stars out of five. Adam Bregman criticized the album title, the texts that dealt with love and astrology, and the sound of the album was " overproduced ".
