Kaly

Kaly ( German Kally, formerly Gally ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-west of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Kaly is located on the edge of Bosko brázda on a ridge between the valleys of the Svratka and Loučka. To the northeast, the Babylon rises (505 m ) southeast of the Křivoš ( 464 m), and in the northwest of the Jilmový Kopec (486 m ) and the Horka (503 m).

Neighboring towns are Borač and vrby in the north, Veseli, Lomnice and Brusna in the northeast, Nové Štěpánovice in the east, Zahrada the southeast, Dolni Loučky and Horni Loučky in the south, Újezd ​​Tišnova and Řikonín the southwest, Vrbka and Boudy in the west and Skryje, Jilmoví and Husle in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1386 in Zusammewnhang with a masters de Kalnov. Subsequently, the site was designated as Kally, Gally and Kalle.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kaly formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Brno and judicial district Tischnowitz. Since 1896, the village belonged to the newly formed district Tischnowitz. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov the community came with the beginning of 1961 to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. At the same time Zahrada was incorporated. Since the beginning of 2005, the community is part of the Okres Brno- venkov
