Karstula
Karstula [ kɑrstulɑ ] is a municipality in western Finland. It is located in the countryside of central Finland at the lake Paajarvi. The municipality has 4375 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on an area of 963.52 km ² water surface of 76.19 km ². In the community only Finnish is spoken.

Policy
As in most rural areas of Finland is in Karstula the Centre Party, the largest party. In the 2008 local elections it received almost half of the votes in the city council and has, the highest decision-making authority in local affairs, with 15 out of 27 deputies an absolute majority. The second largest group are the Social Democrats with six seats, followed by the third major party in the country, the National Coalition Party with four deputies. Furthermore, represented in the council are the Christian Democrats with two seats.
