Luhanka
Luhanka [ luɦɑŋkɑ ] (Swedish: Luhango ) is municipality in the Finnish countryside of central Finland. The entire population is Finnish-speaking.
Towns
To the municipality includes the villages of Judinsalo, Klemettilä, Lempää, Rekolankylä, Tammijärvi and Vuorenkylä.
Attractions
In Luhanka a neo-Gothic wooden church dating from 1893, is based on a design by Josef Stenbäck.
Policy
As in most rural areas of Finland is in Luhanka the Centre Party, the largest party. In the local elections 2008, she received nearly half of the votes in the city council and has, the highest decision-making body for local affairs, with 8 of 15 deputies an absolute majority. The second largest group, the conservative National Coalition Party with three seats. The two mandates accounted for the Socialists and a local dial list ( Lähialueyhteistyön yhteislista ).
Luhanka maintains since 1944 a community partnership with Årjäng in Sweden.
