Kazzinc-Torpedo

The HK Kaszink - Torpedo Ust -Kamenogorsk (Russian ХК Казцинк - Торпедо Усть - Каменогорск ) is an ice hockey team from the Kazakh Öskemen (Russian Ust -Kamenogorsk ). The club was founded in 1955 and takes, in addition to the Kazakh Cup, since the 1960s, the game operation of the Russian Cup finals. The team plays in the Wysschaja Hockey League, the second highest Russian league.

History

The club was founded in 1955 in what was then Ust- Kamenogorsk. 1964 Torpedo got a place in the second division. In the season 1966/67, the team took second place behind Awtomobilist Sverdlovsk and had in the relegation round for the promotion to the elite class against Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Torpedo Minsk compete. After three years of Torpedo managed in the season 1979/80, promotion to the second Soviet league. In the 1986/87 season the team rose to the highest league in the Soviet Union, but descended from the torpedo in the next season. In the following season, 1988/89, the team made its chances of promotion and played ever since in the highest Soviet or Russian league. The last season in the former International Hockey League team spent in the 1995/96 season, before all non-Russian clubs from the top Russian league were banished. Thus, the team has been playing the 1996/97 season in the second-rate Russian Wysschaja league. Due to an existing scheme until 2007, the non-Russian team was denied the promotion to the first division, the revival did not succeed. Venue
