Kittilä

Kittila [kit ILAE ː ] is a municipality in the Finnish Lapland landscape.

Tourism

The Kittila airport in the community throughout the year is served by the airline Finncomm Airlines. Near Kittila is the winter resort of Levi, whose highest elevation is 531 m high. In the northwest of Kittila is the lake Jerisjärvi.

Policy

As generally in the rural areas of northern Finland, the Centre Party is also in Kittila the strongest political force. In the local elections 2008, she received just over half of the votes in the city council and has, the highest decision-making body in local affairs, with 14 of 27 seats on an absolute majority. The second strongest force is the Left Alliance, which, as generally, disproportionately represented in Lapland. It could represent around 30 percent of the votes and holds eight seats on the council. The Social Democrats and the National Coalition Party play, although nationwide belonging to the three major parties in Kittila with election results to the ten percent and two or three members in the council only a marginal role.
