Knesselare is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 8216 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It was formed in 1976 from the merger of the former municipalities Knesselare (16.55 km ²) and Ursel ( 20.77 km ²).

Bruges is located 15 kilometers north-west, 27 km south-east of Ghent and Brussels, about 75 kilometers southeast.
