Nevele is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region. It is located in the province of East Flanders and belongs to the district of Ghent. Nevele has 11,908 inhabitants ( 1 January 2012) and an area of ​​51.89 km ². The municipality was created on 1 January 1977 by the merger of the core municipality with five other districts to today's large church. The place Nevele was first mentioned as early as the 9th century Niviala writing. However, the document is only available in one copy from the year 941.

The city is located five kilometers south Deinze, Gent 12 km east, 30 km north-west of Bruges and Brussels 60 kilometers south east.
