Sint- Gillis- Waas is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 18,876 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012).

Location

The municipality is located in the north of Flanders directly on the Dutch border. It is next to the main town yet from the three districts of De Klinge, Meerdonk and Sint- Pauwels.

Sint -Niklaas is located 6 kilometers south-east, 20 kilometers east of Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels 34 km southwest about 45 km south-east (all figures in a straight line up to the respective city centers).

Traffic

The next highway exits are located in Sint -Niklaas and Haasdonk at the A14/E17.

In Beveren -Waas Nieuwkerken and Sint -Niklaas offers the nearest regional stations and in Antwerp and Ghent keep on regional express trains.

In Antwerp there is a regional airport near the capital Brussels there is an international airport.
