Kobylnice (Brno-Country District)

Kobylnice until 1939 Kobel Nice, ( German Kobelnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is eleven kilometers south-east of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Kobylnice located at the foothills of the Steinitzer forest in the Thaya Schwarza valley floor. The village is located on the left bank of the Říčka ( Goldbach ). To the east rises the Štosy (232 m), in the southeastern Pracký Kopec (324 m) and the Stara hora (307 m). To the northwest is the airport Brno- Tuřany. In the north of the railway line from Brno passes by Blažovice. Against the southwest lies the substation Sokol Nice.

Neighboring towns are Šlapanice and Ponětovice in the north, Blažovice in the northeast, Prace the east, Hostěrádky - Rešov and Újezd ​​u Brna in the southeast, Sokol Nice in the south, Vladimirov and Rebešovice the southwest, Chrlice and Dvorska in the west and Slatinka and Slatina in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1306 in a Urkundes of Bishop John VI. of Wallenstein, in which he gave the Olomouc Schola star Šlapanicer the parish goods and tithes belonging to the parish villages Šlapanice, Slatina, Jiříkovice, Kobylnice and Ponětovice. In the 15th century, was built on an island in the Goldbach a fortress. In Kobylnice then there was a magnificent courtyard with brewery and tavern and a mill and two ponds. Owners of Kobylnice was in 1533 January Kyjovský of Kyjovice, he expanded his possession at that time the village Horákov. 1563 was led by Jan Gbelský of Gbelsko a reconstruction of the festivities. A stone with an inscription reminiscent it was found in 1875 during fieldwork. Throughout its history the town was known as Kobylníky, Kobel Nice and Kobelnitz. Later Kobel Nice was submissive by Sokol Nice. Last landlords were the counts Mitrovský. On 2 December 1805, the village was located on the western edge of the battlefield of the Battle of Three Emperors.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kobel Nice formed in 1850 a part of the community Sokolnice in the District Commission Brno. 1854 began the construction of a village school in which the instruction was added two years later. In 1867 Kobel Nice broke away from Sokol Nice and formed its own community. In 1891 a new school house for a dual-class operation was inaugurated. The volunteer fire department was founded 1898. 1932 a fire station was built on the site of previous festivals. Here also the inscription stone in 1563 was immured. Since 16 March 1939, the municipality bears the name Kobylnice. In 1949, in Kobylnice a cemetery. Between 1986 and 1990 Kobylnice was incorporated to Šlapanice. Vicarage is Šlapanice.
