Ballenbüel

Konolfingen ( berndt. also Chnoflige [ χnɔfliɡə ] called ) is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography

Konolfingen is approximately in the middle between Bern, Thun, Langnau and Burgdorf. Geographically located in the still Kiesental, the 660 meter high Konolfingen is often referred to as the gateway to the Emmental. The municipality offers are the hamlets and villages Herolfingen, Hürnberg, Ursellen, Ballenbüel and Hötschigen.

History

The history of the municipality Konolfingen is still young. It was only in 1933 resulted from the merger of the two communities and Gysenstein Stalden im Emmental today Konolfingen which also gives the District's name. But already in 1148 appeared the first time the name on Chonolfingen. Gysenstein 1226 first mentioned as Gisenstein.

On the territory of the former municipality Stalden is the Hünigen castle.

In connection with Konolfingen also the name of Friedrich Dürrenmatt's is often called, was born in 1921 in the Reformed Presbytery of Stalden.
