L'Échelle-Saint-Aurin

L' échelle Saint- Aurin ( Picard: Lichelle -Saint- Aurin ) is a northern French village with 54 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye Roye, in the canton.

Geography

The church in the countryside Santerre is about seven kilometers west of Roye mostly on the south bank of the Avre, part of the municipality of Saint- Aurin in the east of L' échelle.

History

The Castle of L' échelle, which served as a munitions depot was destroyed during the First World War. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
