Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte

Las Nieves is a town in the province of Agusan del Norte on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines.

In April 1877, the Father Centurions reported the successful establishment of five villages along the river Agusan to Manila. Specifically, these were the villages of Las Nieves, Remedios, Esperanza, Guadalope and San Luis, of which Las Nievas is the one that was first founded. The village is named after the patron saint Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, the mother of Jesus.

The inhabitants of the municipality belong to the ethnic groups of the Cebuanos, Boholanos and Agusanos. Tribal members of the ethnic groups Higaonon and Manobo also live in Las Nieves.

The Baranggay Casiklan was newly created in 2000.
