Lenzkirch

Lenzkirch is a municipality and health resort in the district of Breisgau in the Black Forest in Baden- Württemberg near the Titisee, Schluchsee and the Feldberg.

Geography

The place is located in the Black Forest, in the high-lying valley of the river Haslach that flows on the southeastern edge of the township in the Gutach, which is called from there Wutach. From the southwest runs on the place the Urseetal, a glacial valley, too.

The highest point of the municipality lies at 1190 m on the high ridge in the municipal part Saig on the border to the municipality of Titisee -Neustadt. From the tower on the high ridge one has with good visibility outlook for the Swiss and the clearest vision up in the French Alps.

Lenz church is surrounded by the municipalities (from north clockwise) Titisee -Neustadt, peace Weiler, Loeffingen, Bonn village, Schluchsee, Feldberg and Hinterzarten, all belonging to the district of Breisgau in the Black Forest except Bonn village ( Waldshut ).

Districts

The municipality consists of the villages church Lenz Lenz Kirch ( 3341 E. including green forest ), Saig (812 E. ), Kappel (785 E. ), Raitenbuch (152 E. ) and green forest ( about 50 E. ). The number of second homes in Lenzkirch is 1016, of which 308 in Saig ( Information current as of: ( 30 December 2006) ).

Saig is a climatic resort on the southern slope of the high ridge and has approximately 1000 m of the highest hamlet of Lenzkirch. There are about 700 beds.

The health resort Kappel is located at about 900 m on the southeast slope of the high ridge back ( about 600 beds ). Below Kappel Wutachschlucht begins.

Raitenbuch is a farming community west of Lenzkirch above the Urseetals to about 940 m altitude, near the Windgfällweihers.

Grünwald, the smallest of the Lenzkircher districts, situated on just under 1,000 m altitude. He came in 1976 in the course of municipal reform to Lenzkirch. The former Paulist monastery in Green Forest was founded around 1350. In the small church is a late-Gothic sandstone relief ( life of Christ ).

Climate

Because of the altitude Lenzkirch has slightly cooler temperatures than most other places in Baden- Württemberg. History

Lenz church dates back to the founding of the Alemanni tribe of Lentienser. The rule Lenzkirch went in 1296 to the Counts of Lupfen. In the early 14th century, the Knights of Blumegg came into possession of the rule Lenzkirch. Economy and infrastructure

As a health resort tourism plays a significant role in the local economy. But the fine mechanical industry has greater importance for the economic development of Lenzkirch the successor of the traditional Black Forest clock industry.

Traffic

Lenz church is situated on the national highway 315 between Schaffhausen in Switzerland and Titisee. Mainly the thoroughfare is used in the summer by tourists. Two bus routes by Lenzkirch, line 7258 of Neustadt Lenzkirch to Bonn village and line 7257 from Titisee to Lenzkirch.
