Liesek

Liesek (Hungarian Ljeszek ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia.

Location

It lies in the Orava kotlina on Oravica Brook, between the city Trstená ( 5 km) and the Polish border (9 km by road).

History

The village was first mentioned in 1558 and was founded by Thurzos.

The easternmost municipality Čimhová was from 1980 to 1990 a part of the community.
