Livo (Trentino)

Livo ( German outdated: Lifers ) is a municipality with 891 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the autonomous province of Trento (Trentino ) in the Valle di Non. Livo is situated in the heart of the plateau at the confluence of the streams Mezzalone Pescara and Barnes. Near Livo is the Lago di Santa Giustina.

Attractions

Local attractions include the Church of the Nativity of Mary della pievana in the fraction Varollo, the church of S. Antonio in Preghena and the church of S. Martino. The frescoes of the churches are still well preserved. Interesting is also the Castello di Zoccolo, located on a green hill opposite of Cis. It was owned by the De Zucolo family from Livo. Later, it was entrusted to Thun. Today, the Castello di Zoccolo is only a rural dilapidated house.
