Māris Jass

Māris Jass (born 18 January 1985 in Daugavpils, Latvia) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is since 2013 in Buran Voronezh in the Wysschaja Hockey League contract. His brother Koba is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Māris Jass began his hockey career in his native Latvia at the Stalkers / Juniors Daugavpils. At the beginning of the season 2001/2002 he moved to HK Dynamo Moscow, for its second team, he was active from 2001 to 2003 in the third-class Perwaja league. From 2003 to 2006 the defender played for the Latvian HK Liepaja Metalurgs. This took parallel to the gaming operations in the Latvian Hockey League in the 2003/2004 season still on the East European Hockey League. In the following two seasons, the club played in addition to the Latvian league still in the Belarusian Extraliga. In the season 2005/2006 the defender also denied some games for the Russian club HK Lada Togliatti, who played in the International Hockey League. In the following season Jass presented his skills in the Czech Extraliga during HC Slavia Prague to the test. The next stop of his playing career was in the 2007/2008 season of Slovak HK Ardo Nitra, who played in the Extraliga. The 2008/2009 season spent the defender back in the Latvian HK Liepaja Metalurgs. There he was employed for games in the Belarusian Extraliga. In the following season the links shooter returned to his old stamping ground in Slovakia. For the 2010/2011 season he moved within the Slovak Extraliga for HK 36 Skalica. Jass got to play in the KHL the possibility for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk Already in November 2010. For the 2011/12 season the defender returned to the Slovak Extraliga. This time he ran for the HC Slovan Bratislava and ended the season as champions. After various stations in Russian and Eastern European Hockey Leagues Jass received for the 2012/13 season for the first time a contract in the DEL with the Hannover Scorpions.
