Netherlands national cricket team

The Dutch cricket team is the national team in cricket, representing the Netherlands at international level. It belongs to the second row of teams and thus as an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council.

History

Before the time as an Associate Member

Cricket is known in the Netherlands since it had brought in the Napoleonic Wars in the 19th century British soldiers. Subsequently, several cricket clubs emerged, until finally in 1983 the Dutch Cricket Union was formed. However, cricket remained an amateur sport in the Kingdom for a long time. Although individual international matches Dutch teams were discharged from the end of the 19th century, but great successes were not achieved. In 1964, it succeeded in the Dutch national team against the test -Nation Australia to win. Joining the ICC took place in 1966.

One- Day Internationals

In the first qualifications for the Cricket World Cup 1979 and 1982 the team failed both times early on. Twenty20 Internationals

When qualifying for the first ICC World Twenty20 2007, it failed with only three runs in the match against Scotland on a possible participation.
