New York's 13th congressional district

The 13th Congressional District of New York is a constituency of the House of Representatives of the United States in New York City. It covers the entire area of Staten Iceland and the neighborhoods Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights and Gravesend in Brooklyn.

The changeable constituency will be represented in 2011 by the republican deputies Michael Grimm. It is the only congressional district in New York City, which is inclined towards the Republicans in national elections.

Prior to redistricting in 1992 was the focus of the 13th Congressional District in Brooklyn. Meanwhile, most of Brooklyn is part of the 8th Congressional District of New York.

Staten Iceland behörte before that in the 1980s for the 14th congressional district, in the 1970s for the 17th Congressional District and in the 1960s for the 16th Congressional District.
