Niclas Lucenius
Niclas Lucenius ( May 3, 1989 in Turku ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since October 2013 with TPS Turku of the SM - liiga under contract.
Career
Niclas Lucenius began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Tappara Tampere, for the first team he in the 2006/07 season his debut in the SM- liiga was, where he remained point - and impunity in five games. He was then selected in the fourth round in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 as a total 115 players from the Atlanta Thrashers for which, however, he never played. Instead, the center remained at Tappara and developed there in the following years to key players and leading players. His greatest success with the team from Tampere was reaching the third place in the 2007/ 08 season. During his time at Tappara he played as parallel Players out on loan for the Finnish U20 national team, LeKi and Kiekko -Vantaa in Mestis second-rate.
After he had heard before in the two years to the Topscorern of Tappara Tampere, he was committed for the 2011/12 season for Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League. The Latvians had chosen him already in the KHL Junior Draft 2010 in the sixth round as a total of 122 players. In August 2012, his contract was terminated and Lucenius returned to Tappara. For Tappara he graduated in Episode 45 SM- liiga - games in which he collected 20 points scorer and won the Finnish runner. In parallel, he was used during the main round at LeKi from the Mestis, where he collected 16 points scorer in eight games. In September 2013 Lucenius first moved to LeKi, before a trial contract with TPS Turku signed in October, which was extended in early November.
Internationally
For Lucenius Finland took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2008 and 2009 at junior level. At the 2006 U18 World Cup he won with his team the silver medal at the 2008 U20 World Cup, he was named one of the top three players in Finland.
