History

The place consists of multiple, formerly independent towns, which string together in the valley of the upper reaches of the river Biela Orava ( White Arwa ) to a 6 -km-long site. By the end of 1920, these villages were independent and formed around the historic nucleus Ústredie (translated center of Orava ... Lesná ) (then Erdúdka ). Their names have been preserved in the names of districts:

  • Brišovka
  • Bučina
  • Demanova
  • Flajšová
  • Jasenovská
  • Kubínska
  • Lehotská
  • Mrzáčka
  • Ústredie Oravská Lesná
  • Pribišská
  • Tanečník

The nucleus Oravská Lesná was founded in 1731 by Georg Erdoedy as a logging town, hence the place was called earlier Erdúdka (such as " Erdoedy village" ). The place was connected to 1972 on a narrow-gauge turn - Waldeisenbahn with Vychylovka. With it, especially timber on the Beskydy westwards was brought up Oščadnica. In 2008 the track was taken from the Orava Lesná - Tanečník station to the breakpoint on the Beskid Pass as a museum railway again.

Tesla
