Petteri Nokelainen

Petteri Nokelainen Antti ( born January 16, 1986 in Imatra ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since August 2013 in Brynäs IF in the Svenska Hockey ligands under contract.

Career

Petteri Nokelainen began his career as a hockey player in 2002 in his native Finland for Jokerit of the SM- liiga Lappeenranta. There he played a total of three years. During the NHL Entry Draft in 2004, the Finn was chosen by the New York Islanders in the first round than a total of 16 players. Nokelainen was left with about another season in Finland, before joining the Islanders in the summer of 2005. In his first season Nokelainen met once in 15 games for the team from New York, but he fell for months because of a serious knee injury. The following season he played exclusively for the farm team of the Islanders of the American Hockey League, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

On 11 September 2007 Nokelainen for Ben Walter and a possible second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 at the Boston Bruins have been made. Also there came Nokelainen first for the AHL farm team of Boston, the Providence Bruins, for use, but he eventually prevailed in the National Hockey League and played 57 games in his first season with the Bruins, with whom he reached the playoffs. From the summer of 2008 played Nokelainen exclusively for the NHL team the Bruins who transferred him on 4 March 2009 in exchange for Steve Montador to the Anaheim Ducks. After a year on the West Coast, he moved to the Phoenix Coyotes. In August 2010, Nokelainen signed a temporary two -year contract with Jokerit Helsinki. In May 2011, however, he returned back to Phoenix.

In October 2011, the Phoenix Coyotes him transferred together with Garrett Stafford in exchange for Brock Trotter and a seventh- round choice of law in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Montreal Canadiens. Montréal extended his contract expiring in June 2012 for one year and put him in the following season exclusively with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL one.

On August 16, 2013 signed Nokelainen a one-year contract term of at Brynäs IF from the Svenska Hockey ligands.
