Phil Demmel

Phil Demmel ( born April 1, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is a 2003 member of the thrash metal band Machine Head since March.

Career

Demmel took his first musical steps with the band Vio - lence, which were founded in 1985. After two demos the singer and guitarist Robert Flynn joined the band. After two studio albums Flynn 1992 left the band due to personal differences and formed Machine Head. Vio - lence published a year later another album before the band broke up. Together with bassist Dean Dell founded the band Torque Demmel, where he also took over the vocals. Torque published in 1996 a self-titled album. In 2001 Demmel released an album with the band Technocracy. Two years later, the guitarist Ahrue Luster of his band Machine Head and Demmel separated jumped for a few concerts in Europe as a replacement. In March 2003, Demmel finally became a full member of Machine Head and took the album Through the Ashes of Empires and The Blackening on. In 2007 he played with Chuck Billy and Steve Souza's band Dublin Death Patrol album DDP 4 Life with, but is not now more members of this band.

Demmel has suffered since the early 1990s to cardiogenic fainting. This is a condition in which the brain is temporarily supplied with insufficient blood and leads to circulatory collapse. In autumn 2008, Demmel collapsed during two concerts and had to stop several concerts.
