Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization

The Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, a department of the Roman Curia with the mission to strengthen the New Evangelization, which on 29 June 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. was built.

The Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization should especially take care of a renewed evangelization in the countries in which the Christian faith is at home for a long time, but has lost the progressive secularization important. Its first president was the former rector of the Lateran University and President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Rino Fisichella .. Members of the Council

Members of the Council take part in the deliberations of the Council and attend plenary sessions once a year in Rome. They are appointed for 5 years at the most up to their 80th birthday and may be reappointed after tenure.
