Rabčice

Rabčice (Hungarian Rabcsice ) is a municipality in the extreme north of Slovakia with 1969 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and belongs to Okres Námestovo, kraj a circle of Žilinský.

Geography

The municipality is located in the eastern part of the furrow Podbeskydská Brázda under the Babia hora (1723 m nm) at the confluence of several streams, in the traditional landscape Orava. East of the village runs the Polish border. The center is located at an altitude of 700 m nm and is located 14 km from Námestovo.

History

The village was founded in the early 17th century by relocation of some residents of the neighboring town Rabča and was first mentioned in writing in 1616.
