Raning is a municipality with 805 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria.

Geographical location
Raning is located about 37 km south-east of Graz and about 11 km southwest of the district capital field creek in East Styrian Hill Country.

The council consists of nine members and is since the municipal elections 2010 mandates the following parties together:

Coat of arms
The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 May 1992. Coat Description: red chevron, three diamond-shaped, besteckte at the corners with clover leaves, silver belt buckles with erect spines.
