Rich T. Buckler

Richard Thompson Buckler ( born October 27, 1865 Oakland, Coles County, Illinois, † January 23, 1950 in Crookston, Minnesota ) was an American politician. Between 1935 and 1943 he represented the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Rich Buckler attended the public schools of his home and was then in Coles County in agriculture. In 1904 he moved to Andover in Minnesota. In his new home, he worked as a farmer. He also became involved in various political representatives of the farmers. In addition, Buckler held many local offices in the community and school administration. Between 1915 and 1933 he was three times as a member of the Minnesota Senate.

In the congressional elections of 1934 Buckler was a candidate of the Farmer-Labor Party in the ninth constituency of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Francis Shoemaker on 3 January 1935. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1943 four related legislative periods. There, many of the New Deal legislation of the Federal Government were adopted initially. Since December 1941, the events of the Second World War overshadowed the work of the Congress.

1942 Buckler waived on a bid again. In the following years until his death in January 1950, he again worked in agriculture.
