Rob Klinkhammer

Robert " Rob" Klinkhammer ( born August 12, 1986 in Lethbridge, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 in the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League contract. He previously played with the Ottawa Senators and the Chicago Blackhawks, where he made his debut in the NHL 2010.

Career

In the 2006/07 season, his last in the junior Western Hockey League he played a game with the Seattle Thunderbirds. He then moved to the Portland Winter Hawks and Brandon Wheat Kings finally to the. In 66 games he completed this season, he scored 33 goals and 40 assists. In the play-offs, he reached the semi-finals with Brandon of the Eastern Conference, scoring another four goals and four assists.

For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to the Norfolk Admirals and played his first professional season in the American Hockey League. On 19 October 2007 at his pro debut against the Binghamton Senators he managed one assist his first goal as a professional, he scored on 23 November 2007 against the Springfield Falcons. In March 2008 he consecutively scored a goal in six games. In total he scored in 66 games twelve gates, and twelve assists.

On June 8, 2008 Klinkhammer signed a contract for two years as a free agent with the Rockford IceHogs, the farm team of the Chicago Blackhawks. Due to a violation of the right winger of the Blackhawks, Patrick Kane, he benefited debut on 10 December 2010 at home against the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League. It was his only game in the NHL season 2010/11.

After more than three years with the Rockford IceHogs, in which he scored 44 goals in 242 games and another 65 prepared, Klinkhammer joined in December 2011 to the Ottawa Senators, played with their farm team Binghamton Senators in the AHL. On 4 March 2012, he played against the Florida Panthers for the first time with Ottawa in the NHL. After the game, coach Paul MacLean called Ottawa Klinkhammer as one of his best players. In his 15 games in the NHL 2011/12 Klinkhammer get two assists.

On July 3, 2012 Klinkhammer signed a contract with the Phoenix Coyotes. Due to the NHL lockout in 2012 he first played with the Portland Pirates in the AHL 2012/13. On October 23, 2012 while he scored the first hat trick of his career. After the end of the lockout in January 2012, he played with Phoenix in the NHL 2012/13. He scored five goals in 22 games and six assists.

Following Colonel Klink from the sitcom Hogan's Heroes Klinkhammer is nicknamed The Colonel.
