Robert Dorgebray

Robert Dorgebray ( born October 16, 1915 in Nesles- la- Vallée, † September 29, 2005 in Paris) was a French cyclist.

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 Robert Dorgebray won jointly with Guy and Robert Charpentier Lapébie the gold medal in the team competition of the road race. In the individual competition he finished fourth. In 1939 he was third in the French championship road race in the amateurs. The Road World Championships in the same year he was 20

1942 Dorgebray was professional. The following year he won the French Vice - Champion in Road Racing. In 1945 he won the GP of the Allies, 1946 Circuit de l' Indre, 1947, the Paris- Camembert and 1949 the Boucles de la Seine- Saint- Denis.

Three times - 1947, 1949 and 1950 - Robert Dorgebray started in the Tour de France, but never reached Paris. In 1952 he retired from active cycling.

After his cycling career Dorgebray opened a restaurant in Paris, and later he led a bike shop in Rouen and a hotel in Port- Villez before he returned to Paris to open a café.
