Robert Schörgenhofer

Robert Schörgenhofer ( born February 21, 1973 in Dornbirn) is an Austrian football referee. He is a member of the Vorarlberg Football Association and a member of the Vorarlberg Referee College.

Career as a football player

At the age of ten years, Robert Schörgenhofer began at FC Sulz to play football. The career was quite successful, because after all he was able to celebrate Under -16 and Under -19 two regional championship title with his comrades in the ages. Only 17 years old he was able to break into the first team right, but minor injuries threw him back again and again.

Career as a football referee

For speedy end of his footballer career contributed further that Schörgenhofer already on 1 March 1991 at the age of only 18 years - so the earliest possible date - passed his exam for football referees. Since he was still active as a football player, he was, according to the statutes, for the time being only in junior games used.

Early Schörgenhofer realized that he finds fulfillment as a referee, so he ended his active career as a football player at the age of 20 years. With great ambition, he worked on his career, and thanks to his good performances he was already in the squad of referees the second highest Austrian league in the 2000 /01 season. His debut in the First Division was Schörgenhofer on 14 July 2000 in Vienna game against Untersiebenbrunn.

From the season 2004/ 05 Schörgenhofer was promoted to the squad list of soccer referees for the highest Austrian league. On 14 August 2004, he was in the game Traun against Admira Wacker his debut in the Bundesliga.

Already in his second game lead on 25 September 2004 Schörgenhofer had recorded the first exclusion, when he sent from the field after 72 minutes the former FC Wacker Innsbruck players Hannes Eder with the yellow-red card. The first red card showed Schörgenhofer in his 25th game of the Matter Burger Anton Pauschenwein for a foul in the 45th minute; in this game against Ried he showed with 9 also the most yellow cards. Until his 33.Spiel it took before Schörgenhofer 26 August 2007 Sturm Graz imposed the first penalty in the game against Austria Kärnten, which was transformed in the 57th minute by Roland Kollmann to 1:3 for the guests. Twice yellow-red showed Schörgenhofer on 12 May 2007 in Traun game against Wacker Innsbruck, twice smooth red he showed on 14 April 2007 at the Game Matter castle against Austria Wien.

At the Games in the Austrian Football Bundesliga match two lines are added in the Swiss Super League as part of the referee exchange process.

On January 1, 2007 Robert Schörgenhofer, was admitted as a successor to the retired Dietmar Drabek in the squad list of FIFA referees. Before his first appearance he had to complete an introductory course UEFA including sporty fitness test until 8 February 2007 in Rome in the time of 4. His first international game, he led on 23 March 2007 as part of qualifying for the Under-17 European Championship between England and Bosnia - Herzegovina. The first use in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League was on 6 August 2008 in the match between Sparta Prague and Sheriff Tiraspol (2-0). His first international game led Schörgenhofer on 10 September 2008 as part of the qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2010 between Albania and Malta. On 23 November 2010 he directed his first game in the UEFA Champions League match between Chelsea and MSK Zilina (2-1).

Robert Schörgenhofer is married to Christiane kinesiologist. From his first marriage, a daughter (Lisa, born 1998) emerged. His hobbies include next to the football or tennis and jogging, which is also justified his physical fitness.
