Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington

The Diocese of Burlington (Latin: Dioecesis Burlingtonensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and includes the U.S. state of Vermont. It belongs to the Diocese of Fall River, the Diocese of Manchester, the diocese of Portland, the Diocese of Springfield and the Diocese of Worcester for the Ecclesiastical Province of Boston. It was established on July 29, 1853 together with the Diocese of Portland.

Until November 9, 2005, Kenneth A. Angell Bishop of the Diocese of Burlington, whose resignation for reasons of age, Pope Benedict XVI. adopted on this day. On the same day the previous Coadjutor Bishop Salvatore Ronald Matano was appointed as his successor.
