Sad but True is a song by American thrash metal band Metallica. The song was released as a fifth and final single from her fifth studio album, Metallica.

Formation

Sad but True was written by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. On 13 September 1990, the band recorded a demo version of the song, which is different from the final version by a much higher speed.
