Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Elliott 6m

The sailing competition in the Elliott 6m ( in English three person keelboat ) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held in the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy from July 29 to August 1, 2012. 36 athletes in 12 boats participated.

The Elliott 6m boat replaced the Yngling used in 2004 and 2008 as a 3-person keelboat.

The competition was conducted as a match race. First, each boat went up against each other. Each victory was a point. For equal scores, the direct comparison of the placement decision. The top eight boats came into the quarter- finals, which was played in the best of five - mode, ie the boat import the first three wins, a round came on.
