Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Finn

The sailing competition in the Finn Dinghy ( in English for the first time as one person heavyweight dinghy ) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London from July 29 to August 5, 2012 held in the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. 24 athletes participated.

The competition was carried out in eleven races ( fleet race ). The first ten races were completed by all starters. Here, points were awarded for the course number. In the final account, the worst result was deleted. The ten sailors with the lowest score were qualified for the medal race. The previous points were taken, but doubled the placement points for the medal race.

For false starts ( OCS on course side), and a race crash ( DNF ) received the glider in question 25 points. Also in disqualification ( DSQ ), the starter got 25 points. In addition, the jury could also distribute throughout the race penalty points (DPI = Discretionary Penalty Imposed ).
