San Francisco Spiders

The San Francisco Spiders were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from San Francisco, California. The venue of the Spiders was the Cow Palace.

History

The San Francisco Spiders were founded in 1995 and had its headquarters in San Francisco. Their home games they carried out in the neighboring city of Daly City. The club failed to qualify for the play- offs, left there, however, in the first round after 1:3 defeat against the Chicago Wolves from. After the 1995/96 season, the San Francisco Spiders were dissolved. Due to problems with the hall and lack of viewer interest. During the week of the playoffs Spiders were often visited by up to 8,000 spectators, were often less than 2,500 fans a week. Most players move the resolution to other clubs in the IHL, but the Kansas City Blades, eight players under contract.
