Şanlıurfaspor

Şanlıurfaspor is a Turkish football club from Şanlıurfa. Their home games contests the team in Şanlıurfa GAP Stadium. The club colors are yellow - green and have been suggested by the writer Mustafa Dişli, the yellow is a ripe ear of wheat and the green is supposed to represent an immature ear of wheat. In addition to football, the club has a basketball team, which in the amateur league in the contest participates.

History

Foundation

The club was founded on June 1, 1963 from a merger of the clubs Kahraman Uyanışspor, Beşiktaş and 11 Nisanspor. At the professional game operation of the club took part for the first time in the season 1969/70. In the then third highest Turkish league, the 3rd Türkiye Ligi, denied it the first game against Kirsehirspor.

The following year, the club took part in the third and second highest Turkish league.

The 2011/12 season they finished as champions of the TFF Lig 2 and reached eleven years of abstinence direct promotion to the TFF 1 Lig
