Sant'Onofrio, Calabria
Onofrio is a southern Italian village with 3101 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria. The community is located about 8 kilometers northeast of Vibo Valentia.
History
Onofrio can return the name of the hermit Onophrios the Great. Originally, the settlement dates back to a monastic foundation. The place is in the area of influence of the Calabrian mafia ( 'Ndrangheta ), 2009, the council was disbanded because of infiltration by the Mafia by arrangement.
Traffic
Through the village leads the Autostrada A3 from Naples to Reggio di Calabria. The exit Vibo Valentia situated in the municipality.
