Sassello

Sassello ( in Ligurian: Sascê, in Piedmontese: SASSEL ) is a municipality with 1818 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

Sassello is located on the regional border between Liguria and Piedmont, in the northern section of the Ligurian Apennines. The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana del Giovo, as well as to the Beigua Park and is about 27 miles from Savona and about 63 kilometers from Genoa.

Sassello has a small, notable, historic center, which was awarded the Orange Flag 2007. He is a popular destination in the Genoese and savonischen hinterland.
