The actual history of Scandicci begins with the local government reform of Leopold II in 1774, when he (now Settimo ) and Torri ( Pian de ' Cerri, San Vincenzo and Romola ) brought together the communities Casellina under the name Casellina e Torri. 1869 / '97 the Palazzo Comunale was built, followed by Piazza Matteotti (1879 ) and Piazza Piave (1876 ). The river course of Greve in 1929 changed, the still existing Piazza Marconi was born.

DH Lawrence had in Scandicci since 1926 a villa in which he, inter alia, his last novel Lady Chatterley wrote.
