Sergei Kopylov

Sergei Vladimirovich Kopylov (Russian: Сергей Владимирович Копылов; born July 29, 1960 in Tula ) is a former Soviet racing cyclist and three-time world champion.

Sports career

Sergei Kopylov comes from a family keen on cycling, at a young age, he began training at the velodrome in his home town of Tula. In 1978 he became Junior World Sprint Champion and Vice World Champion in the 1000 -meter time trial, after he became in 1977 Vice World Champion in the Junior Sprint. At the Olympic Games in 1980 he won bronze in the sprint.

In 1981, Sergei Kopylov the Sprint Classic Grand Prix de Paris and the World Cup in Brno in the sprint, time trial, he finished in third place. In 1982, he was the second time World Sprint Champion, 1983 world amateur champion in the time trial on the track. In 1984, he won a second time the Grand Prix de Paris for itself.
