Somerset County (Maryland)

Somerset County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Princess Anne.

The County is located on the Delmarva Peninsula on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, on the south by Virginia and is the southernmost county of Maryland. History

Somerset County was formed in 1666 by Order-in -Council on former Indian land. It was named after Mary, Lady Somerset, the sister of Cæcilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore.
