Steinberg Church (Danish: Stenbjergkirke ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. It is the administrative seat of the Office Geltinger bay.

Geography

Steinbergkirche lies on the Flensburg Fjord (Baltic Sea) in the region of fishing. The distance to Geltinger bay is about three kilometers.

History

The settlement goes back to the Bredegatt mentioned already in the 12th century church. The community was originally called also Bredegatt and was renamed in 1963 in Steinbergkirche.

In 1970, the formerly independent communities Gintoft, Hattlund and Westerholm were incorporated and on March 1, 2013, the municipality Quern.

Policy

From the merger with Quern to the constitution of the members elected at the municipal election in 2013, a local council appointee of the municipal supervisory officer took the tasks of the municipal council and the mayor.
