In its course touches or flows of Strudelbachhalle the villages Flacht, Weissach, Eberdingen, Riet and Enzweihingen, and forms a natural boundary between the Strohgäu and the Heckengäu.

History

The occupied colonization history of strudel Bach extends back to the 4th millennium BC.

As the Thoroughfare Strudelbachhalle has never been used because of its too small size. However, its water was used for many mills as a source of energy. At least 10 mills have existed on Strudelbachhalle, and in at least two farms its hydroelectric power is still used today.

In spite of the catchment area of 55 km ² and particularly in the local documents relatively narrow stream profile any serious flooding events are known, as other rivers in the area. Between the villages many Ausuferungsflächen were obtained. The last flood on 6 July 2006 that an outflow of 13 m³ / s ( normal level about 2 m³ / s ) was measured in Enzweihingen, here the inflow of cross Bach is included with its catchment area of 70 km ². Damage in the villages by this event, apart from cleaning operations are not known.

The largest by far eyewitness flood Swirl Bach was in February 1940 when a strong warm spell with rapid snowmelt or heavy rain was come. Only the streets and gardens were inundated directly on Strudelbachhalle.

Environment

The vortex stream flows in an agriculturally and industrially little used valley.

The steep side slopes of Strudelbachtals, especially at the mouths of small tributary valleys have been used for a long time for wine. Today, it is only sporadically as a hobby, some former vineyards are used as recreational area. Many vineyards are now completely overgrown but and provide a valuable habitat for plants and animals.
