Tacoma Link

As Tacoma Link refers to the opened in August 2003 tram in Tacoma, Washington. With 2.6 kilometers of track length of the Tacoma Link is one of the smallest tram networks in the world.

Operation

The only line leading from the train station, the Tacoma Dome, the Theater District and served there six stops. An additional bus stop, which is not shown on the above network, located at the Commerce St. Street/11th Such rides are free of charge. As vehicles come three railcars of the type 10T by Czech manufacturer Škoda used.

Future

There are several projects to extend this short distance.

North End extension

This route would be built along the S 19th Street or 6th Avenue to Tacoma Community College (TCC ) either. It is expected that large numbers of passengers, as the TCC is a great Transport Exchange.

Airport expansion

This Tacoma Link project leads along Highway 99 through Fife, Federal Way, and SeaTac to S 200th St station near the Seattle -Tacoma International Airport. This would allow for a trip from Downtown Tacoma (or perhaps even of North Tacoma, if the above extension is built ) to downtown Seattle and Northgate.

Tacoma Streetcar

A citizens' initiative, Tacoma Streetcar, calls for the complete re-introduction of tram 1938 set of Tacoma.
