Tamás Darnyi

Tamás Darnyi [ tɒma ː ʃ dɒrɲi ] ( born June 3, 1967 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian swimmer.

He is one of the most successful all-around swimmer in the history of the swimming sport. At the Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992, he won the 200 m and 400 m layers each gold medal. The same feat he achieved in 1987 and 1991 at the World Swimming Championships. In those two years he was also elected as the World Swimmer of the Year. In 2000 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
