Terlan

Terlan (Italian: Terlano ) on the Wine Route is a municipality in South Tyrol in Val d'Adige in Italy, between Bolzano and Merano, with 4223 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Terlan is known for its wine and harvested in the Adige level asparagus.

Landmark Terlan are located above the town castle ruins Maultasch ( Neuhaus castle ruins ) and the slender, covered with multi-colored roof shingles spire of the main church from the 14th century.

History

In the Middle Ages Terlan was a significant silver archaeological site. In the 15th century some 1,000 miners in more than 30 pits were to Terlan engaged in the mining of galena. Terlan is one of the most famous wine villages of South Tyrol. For over 2000 years reaches Terlano tradition as a wine terroir.
