Terry Everett

Robert Terry Everett (* February 15, 1937 in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama ) is an American politician ( Republican).

Career

Robert Terry Everett went to public school in Midland City ( Alabama). Then he visited the Enterprise State Junior College. Everett served 1955-1959 in the United States Air Force. During this time he was stationed as a Intelligence Specialist in Europe, where he learned Russian. He then worked as a sports and police reporter for the Dothan Eagle. Over time he became the owner of a newspaper chain as well as a large farm and a real estate assets. He sold in 1988 all but one of his holdings.

Everett also pursued a political career. He was elected to the 103rd U.S. Congress and reelected to the seven succeeding U.S. Congresses. Everett worked in the U.S. House of Representatives from 3 January 1993 to 3 January 2009. He decided not to run in 2008 for the 111th U.S. Congress.

Robert Terry Everett is married to Barbara Pitts. They both are Southern Baptist.
