Tomáš Klouček

Tomáš Klouček ( born March 7, 1980 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player, who was last until January 2012 when HC Lev Poprad in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Tomáš Klouček began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of HC Slavia Prague, where he was active until 1998. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 in the fifth round as a total 131 players from the New York Rangers. First, the defender played but each one year at the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Canadian Football League Quebec Major Junior Top Junior Hockey League as well as the farm team of the Rangers, the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. With the Hartford Links Sagittarius the Calder Cup won in the 1999/00 season. In the 2000 /01 season he made his debut in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers, where he in 43 games overall scorer five points, including a goal scored in his rookie year.

On 12 December 2002 Klouček was delivered together with Rem Murray and Marek Židlický in exchange for Mike Dunham at the Nashville Predators, for which he played just one year before he was transferred to the Atlanta Thrashers. For the Thrashers, he stood up to the end of the season 2003 /04 in 37 games in the NHL on the ice. The lockout during the 2004/ 05 NHL season bridged the Czech in his home, where he ran aground on his former club HC Slavia Prague, the HC Ocelari Třinec and White Tigers Liberec in the Extraliga. Following the resumption of gaming operations in the NHL, he returned to Atlanta, where he was, however, just one more time used in the NHL. Due to an ankle injury, he played in only 33 games for their AHL farm team, the Chicago Wolves.

On July 6, 2006 Klouček received as a free agent contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets played in the following season, but only for their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch, so he returned to the Czech Republic in the 2007/ 08 season where he worked for the HC Zlín was active. Following the season, he was engaged by Barys Astana of the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League, for whom he played until 2011.

In July 2011 he transferred within the KHL for HC Lev Poprad. For the team he prepared in 20 games before a gate before his contract was terminated in January 2012 ahead of schedule.
